Student Projects - house-gym
What participants build during the program
Students in the house-gym seminars don't just absorb theory - they apply it. Each project below reflects a real attempt to solve a practical problem using crossfit philosophy as the guiding framework. Some worked cleanly. Some needed iteration. That's the point.
Project showcase
Six projects from the last two cohorts
Each project tackles a different angle of crossfit philosophy - from nutrition tracking to movement analysis. Participants chose their own problem, their own tools.
Android Food Calorie Counter App
Participant Teodora Vanhanen built a Food Calorie Counter for Android that logs meals against daily energy targets set by workout intensity. The Android Calorie Counter App syncs training load with intake, giving athletes a clearer picture of fuel versus output. An Android app for counting food calories that actually reflects what crossfit demands.
Nutrition tracking · Mobile View detailsMovement Load Tracker
Designed by Oliwier Marek, this tool maps weekly movement patterns against recovery signals. It helped him understand why certain WODs left him more depleted than others - not just volume, but sequencing.
Recovery · Data analysis View detailsPeer Coaching Framework
Nkechi Adaeze developed a structured peer feedback system for small training groups. The framework borrows from crossfit's community-first ethos and gives coaches a repeatable method for giving technique notes without disrupting flow.

Rasmus Lindqvist built a spreadsheet-based system for tracking classic crossfit benchmarks over 12 weeks. The project revealed how small technique improvements - not just effort - moved the numbers.

Beatrix Sörensen created a 10-minute pre-session mobility screen based on functional movement patterns. The protocol flags restrictions before they become injuries, using only bodyweight tests that any athlete can self-administer.

Yusuf Demirci documented a 6-week programming cycle designed for athletes with minimal equipment. The guide applies crossfit's variance principle within real constraints - a single barbell, a pull-up bar, and floor space.

What we look for
Projects are evaluated on honesty, not polish
A project that honestly documents failure teaches more than one that hides it. Our review process focuses on whether participants engaged seriously with a real problem - not whether their output looks finished.
- Clear problem statement grounded in personal training experience
- Application of at least one crossfit principle - variance, intensity, or functional movement
- Documented iteration - what changed and why
- Honest reflection on what didn't work or needs more time
- Peer review participation - written feedback on two other projects
